Collaborative Family Law

Facing a potential divorce or a child custody battle is one of life’s most challenging experiences. It is both an emotional and financial hardship.  Many attorneys earn a significant amount of money representing folks who cannot come to a sensible agreement due to anger, disappointment, or jealousy.  I understand those natural human emotions.  However, couples who desire to control their destiny and want to jointly agree on the direction of their children’s lives should give considerable thought to working things out in the best interest of their children and their financial position. If not, a judge will be the final decision-maker of what happens to a couple's assets and children.

Of course, based on the circumstances and the behavior of the parties, a collaborative divorce may not be a viable option. This is especially true in cases involving fraud, domestic violence, substance and alcohol abuse, as well as other factors.

If you are in need of legal assistance in a domestic relations or child custody matter, I will only represent couples who are amenable to a modified collaborative process as detailed in my question section titled "What is a Collaborative Divorce?” Please read and let me know if that will work for you.
